Vintage 1978 Gibson Electric Guitars

Vintage 1978 Gibson Guitars

The 1978 Les Paul was lighter this year with the switch on the bottom. Many players like the comfort afforded by the lighter weight. The standard, custom and deluxe along with Fender Stratocasters and telecasters were dominating the market, especially with the heavier rock music. Gibson started making a less expensive model that was, nevertheless, sturdy enough for the stage or garage in natural colors. Models can be purchased nowadays for a relatively small price considering the history and sound. You’ll be surprised when you visit EBay at the well preserved models of 1978 Gibson electric guitars. And remember, if you don’t find exactly what you want today, check back another day.

Gibson didn’t just make great guitars for great musicians with plenty of money. Gibson recognized the importance of making their high quality guitars accessible to musicians who had more talent than cash by producing more budget friendly models such as The Paul guitar which was introduced in 1978. Today talented guitar players and collectors looking for a 1978 guitar still refuse to settle for anything less than a Gibson. Purists even scour eBay for original 1978 guitar parts for their vintage Gibson guitars. For many serious guitar collectors, if it’s not a Gibson then it’s not worth collecting.
