Vintage 1967 Gibson Electric Guitars
By this time, many professions were using Gibson guitars, including John Fogerty, Jerry Garcia, the Everly Brothers, Beatles George Harrison, Paul McCartney, and John Lennon, Emmylou Harris, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Gene Simmons, to name a few. Even Chuck Berry used a Gibson ES-350t early in his career and later used an ES-355s. There are still some originals around with excellent sound and in great condition. Most can be found with a hard shell case. Most of the time, some small parts will be non-original, such as a nut, a pickup, or a toggle switch. If it was every used, it probably will have at least some minor dings or scratches. Locate the vintage Gibson Les Paul, ES model, or bass guitar that you desire on EBay where offerings are clearly shown and described. Prices depend, of course, on model, condition, and color.
Unlike some of the hard rocking musicians who played them, Gibson guitars from 1967 have actually aged pretty well. Gibson guitars were so revered by the people who played them that many 1967 guitars that are still around are still in great condition. As rare and expensive as 1967 Gibson guitars in great condition are, it`s still possible to find reasonably priced models worth collecting. One of the most famous guitars produced by Gibson in the 1960`s was the distinctive v shaped Flying V guitar. The Flying V was a reissue of a model that had been discontinued in 1959 and reintroduced in 1967 after legendary guitarists like Jimi Hendrix started playing the original Flying V guitars onstage. Nowadays the Flying V is flying high as a popular collectible item.
